Macedonian Kingdom. Philip III Arrhidaios. 323-317 B.C. AR drachm (17.58 mm, 4.20 g, 11 h). in the name of Alexander III, 336-323 B.C.. Magnesia ad Meandrum mint, Struck ca. 323-319 B.C. by authority of Menander or Kleitos. Head of Alexander as young Hercules right wearing lion-skin headdress, paws tied at throat / ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ, name vertically downwards to right of Zeus Aetophoros enthroned left, right leg drawn back, holding eagle and resting on scepter; in field to left, thyrsos with fillet; nothing beneath throne. Price 1945; Müller 662. VF, light toning, reverse 15% off-center losing nothing but border.
