ROMAN GOLD AND MOSAIC BEADS NECKLACE
Ca. 100-300 AD. A lovely wearable necklace, formed by multiple glass beads of millefiori, marvered, mosaic, checkerboard and other types. Adorned with gold biconical amulets, elaborately decorated with scrolls and filigree. Fine condition. Restrung. Necklaces were part of the feminine costume in the Roman world and were used both for aesthetic purposes and to communicate social messages of status and wealth.
