EGYPTIAN FAIENCE MARSH BOWL FRAGMENT
New Kingdom, 18th Dynasty, Ca. 1550 - 1295 BC
A bright blue, glazed fragment of a marsh bowl. The interior of the bowl is decorated in added black and depicts a pair of tilapia fish feeding on lotus buds. For similar examples, see nos. 76-78 in Friedman, Gifts of the Nile, Ancient Egyptian Faience.
