EGYPTIAN FAIENCE MARSH BOWL FRAGMENT

New Kingdom, 18th Dynasty, Ca. 1550 - 1295 BC
A bright blue, glazed fragment of a marsh bowl. The interior of the bowl is decorated in added black and depicts a pair of tilapia fish feeding on lotus buds. For similar examples, see nos. 76-78 in Friedman, Gifts of the Nile, Ancient Egyptian Faience.
Size: 125mm x 110mm; Weight: 295g
Provenance: Prince collection, 1990s-2014, acquired from R. Wace, Ancient Art, UK. This item has been cleared against the Art Loss Register database and comes with a confirmation letter.
