ROMAN NICOLO INTAGLIO WITH MARS IN GOLD RING

A nicolo intaglio depicting the god Mars (Greek Ares). The god is depicted turned to his left, wearing a helmet and holding a shield at his feet. His left hand is raised, while his right hand hangs loosely. The intaglio is set in a high carat (20-22ct), possibly later gold ring.
