EGYPTIAN RED CARNELIAN HIPPOPOTAMUS AMULET
Ca. 2055 - 1790 BC An Egyptian carnelian hippopotamus-shaped amulet carved with stylised details. The animal features a large body with three vertical lines representing the folds of its skin, a long and heavy muzzle that touches the ground and raised triangular ears.
