TALL BYZANTINE WHITE GLASS BOTTLE

Ca. AD 400 - 600 A Byzantine glass bottle presenting stunning pale yellow hues. It's polygonal body was most likely mould-blown. The form is completed by a short tubular neck, a thick, flattened rim, and a thin strap glass handles attached at one side of the shoulder and rim. For similar see: MET Museum Accession Number: 61.247.
Size: 170mm x 80mm; Weight: 140g
Provenance: Property of a London art gallery, acquired on the US art market; Ex. collection of Rabbi Herbert Friedman, NYC, collected in the 1960s In Israel, to family by decent. This item has been cleared against the Art Loss Register database and comes with a confirmation letter.
