GROUP OF ROMAN TERRACOTTA DECORATED OIL LAMPS
Ca. AD 50 - 200 A group of three Roman terracotta oil lamps. All three are very similar, with round bodies and a cylindrical beak. On the bevelled top of the beak, there is a groove between the bead of the disc and the flat, raised tip of the beak. This groove can be very narrow and shallow, similar to a capital I (Buchi IX-a) or much deeper and wider (Buchi IX-b, which is the most common).
