CELTIC ENAMELLED PENDANT
Ca. 200 BC - AD 100 A Celtic enameled bronze floral shaped pendant with a sinuous form. Both terminals are flowers, with impressed circular dots inlaid with red enamel. The broad central spine contains a triangular openwork panel. The flower shape pendant was a popular style that appeared around the Roman conquest of England. The symmetrical Celtic style is perfectly captured by these lovely brooches and pendants, and they were both artistic items. For similar see: Celts, Art and Identity, fig. 120.
