SELJUK/BYZANTINE OPENWORK GOLD BRACELET WITH EMERALD
Ca. AD 900 - 1200 A rare Seljuk/Byzantine gold bracelet composed of densely twisted gold wires terminating in a pin closure, highly ornamented with applied granules and four gold pellets on the corners, embellished with an emerald cabochon in the centre. This bracelet is a very beautiful example of Seljuk jewellery and represents a very high level of craftsmanship.

Provenance: Property of a London Islamic art specialist collector; previously in a collection formed since the 1980s. This item has been cleared against the Art Loss Register database and comes with a confirmation letter.
