CHINESE TANG DYNASTY TERRACOTTA FEMALE MUSICIAN - TL TESTED
Ca. AD 618 – 907 A Chinese terracotta female musician. The lady is standing upright, wearing a long robe beneath a short overtop. Her hair is arranged into a Luo Ji, a coiled hair bun in the form of a conch shell. She is seen playing the horizontal flute, known as bi li. This piece has been precisely dated using a thermoluminescence analysis carried out by Ralf Kotalla. The report will accompany the lot.
