EGYPTIAN WOODEN MODEL OF FOOT
New Kingdom, Ca. 1550 - 1069 BC A model of a left foot skillfully carved from wood. The elegant foot presents a slender form with the second toe being longer than the first, a quality named the "Egyptian foot,". This was idealised in Greek sculpture and continued to be the aesthetic standard through Roman art. The toes are fairly widely spaced as the foot lays flat, exhibiting no noticeable arch.
