Ca. AD 100 - 301 A Roman carnelian intaglio depicts Minerva facing right, wearing a helmet and holding a flag. The intaglio is made in a stylised manner typical of the new style introduced in the last part of the first century. During this period this kind of jewel was fashionable among most of society.
