Description

A SET OF 21 ETCHED CARNELIAN BEADS Punic, 4th-3rd century BCE. Each bead is decorated on both sides with: Sphinxes, humans, busts, eyes, fish, bull heads, a gazelle, the emblems of Tanit, floral and geometric motifs. Two are inscribed in Phoenician-Punic: לרבתי : לעשתרת : מרית : שמין / לחיי : נבשי : למלד : מרקי ליחק : מלכי : אנך זכר : לטב / ליחק : בעלשמי : ז ... In very good condition and very rare. Ex Shlomo Moussaieff coll. Herzliya Pituah (non exportable).
