Judaic/Talmudic Text Mounted on Board
Judaic scripture printed on vellum. Based on our evaluation, we estimate the pages are dated mid 14th to 16th centuries, but it needs confirmation. 2 vertical pieces mounted on thin board, Possible Halachik book. The Hebrew phrase "שכיב מרע" is repeated often, that means someone who is very sick. So it could be a text referring to how ill people should be treated. The text is not printed in modern Hebrew, but in Talmudic Hebrew. The script used it known as the traditional K'tav Ashuri script, which is to say, the Assyrian one. The Jews adopted the Assyrian script after returning to Israel from Babylon, around 587-698 BCE. The Torah has been written in this script ever since. Almost in good to VG condition with evidence of worm holes, wear and stains.
