Sicily. Syracuse. Hieron II (274-215 BC). AE 27 mm. 240-215 BC. Obv. Diademed head left. Rev. Horseman galloping right, holding couched lance; below, Φ; in exergue, IEPΩNOΣ. HGC 2 1548; CNS II 195; SNG ANS 925. AE. 15.10 g. 26.00 mm. Deep olive green patina. Area of striking weakness on reverse, otherwise good VF/VF.
