Greek Italy. Northern Apulia, Arpi. AE Obol, c. 325-275 BC. Obv. EIHMAN. Laureate head of Apollo left; behind, lyre. Rev. Lion advancing right; above, pentagram; in exergue, ΑΡΠΑΝΟΝ. HN Italy 639; SNG ANS -; SNG Cop. 606. AE. 6.53 g. 20.00 mm. R. Rare and in very good condition for issue. Earthen deep olive green patina. Good VF. The reverse of this coin clearly derives from the coins of Velia. The obverse legend is probably a personal name of Daunian origin.
