Prow right, inscribed C.METELLVS; [above, elephant's head]; before, four pellets; in exergue, ROMA. Cr. -; cf. 269/3 var. (C.METEL). AE. 6.05 g. 19.00 mm. RRRR. Unique variety of an extremely rare issue. There are known only two example of this Quadrans (one in Paris, listed as unique by Crawford and another, sold by Busso Peus Nachfolger in 2019, both with legend C.METEL). Earthy light green patina with spot of oxidations. Good F/About VF.
