Africa. Egypt, Ptolemaic Kingdom. Ptolemy VI Philometor (180-145 BC). AR Tetradrachm. Uncertain Phoenician mint (Aradus?), dated year 90 (170/169 BC). Obv. Head of Ptolemy I right, diademed and wearing an aegis. Rev. ΠΤΟΛΕΜΑΙΟΥ ΣΩΤΗΕΡΟΣ. Εagle standing left on a thunderbolt; to left, retrograde P (Year 90). Svoronos 1112 and 1205; SNG Cop. 547. AR. 13.67 g. 26.00 mm. Choice example with a superb portrait, brilliant and lightly toned; peripheral areas of roughness on obverse. About EF/EF.
