L. Papius. AR Denarius serratus, 79 BC. Obv. Head of Juno Sospita right, wearing goat's skin; behind, butterfly. Bead-and-reel border. Rev. Gryphon leaping right; below, fly; in exergue, L. PAPI. Cr. 384/1 (control marks 109). Banti 1/65. AR. 3.85 g. 20.00 mm. Lightly toned over bright surfaces; areas of oxidation. Gash across the reverse surface. (C.
