Greek Italy. Southern Lucania, Thurium. AR Stater, c. 350-300 BC. Obv. Helmeted head of Athena left, helmet decorated with Skylla pointing and holding rudder; behind, TI[MO]. Rev. Bull butting right; ΘOYPIΩN in exergue; above, star and Nike flying right, crowning bull. HN Italy 1831/1879 (for obv./rev.); CNG 99, lot 13 (same dies); NAC 52, lot 41 (same dies); NAC 59, lot 506 (same dies); New York Sale III, lot 76 (same dies); Triton III, lot 84 (same dies). AR. 7.75 g. 20.00 mm. Rare combination of obverse/reverse types. Reverse slightly off-centre, some corrosions, otherwise. Good VF.
