Good VF. The Veliocasses and Bellovaci were prominent Celtic tribes in northern Gaul, centered around modern-day Normandy and Picardy in France. They were known for their strength and independence, playing key roles in resisting Julius Caesar during the Gallic Wars (58–50 B.C.). The Bellovaci, in particular, were one of the largest and most formidable tribes, noted for their military prowess and organization. After their defeat, they were integrated into the Roman Empire but retained aspects of their cultural identity. These tribes are also recognized for their distinctive coinage, reflecting their artistry and economy. Their legacy highlights the rich and complex history of pre-Roman Gaul.
