Sicily. Syracuse, Dionysios I. Circa 405-400 BC. 20 Litrai or Tetradrachm (Gold, 10.60 mm, 1.13 g). ΣΥΡA Head of Herakles left, wearing lion skin headdress. Rev. Quadripartite incuse square; in deeper incuse circle in center, small female head left. Boehringer, pl. I, 6. SNG ANS 350-6. Rizzo pl. XLVIII n. 9. HGC 2, 1289 var. (legend also on the reverse). Cfr. CNG E-415, lot 5 (same dies without reverse legend). Rusty reverse die. Extremely Fine/Good Very Fine.
