P. Crepusius, 82 BC. Denarius (Silver, 17.15 mm, 2.97 g). Rome. Laureate head of Apollo to right; behind, scepter over shoulder; below chin, control letter (C). Rev. Horseman to right, brandishing spear with his right hand; in exergue, P CREPVSI. Crawford 361/1b var (control number on reverse). Sydenham 738 var (same). Babelon (Crepusia) 1 var (same). Banti -. Cf. RBW 1367 type, but incorrectly described (the numeral V is visible on reverse of the RBW specimen). Deposits. Dots on edge, otherwise, Extremely Fine. An unrecorded variety with no control number on reverse.
