Description
Faustina I. (Senior), wife of Antoninus Pius, (Diva) died 140/1 AD. AR Denarius. 3.18 g. - 17.47 mm. Rome, struck after circa 146 AD.
Obv.: DIVA FAVSTINA. Bust of Faustina I, draped, right, hair elaborately waved in several loops round head and drawn up and coiled on top.
Rev.: AVGVSTA. Ceres, veiled, draped, standing left, raising her right hand and holding long torch in her left.
Ref.: RIC III 361 (Antoninus Pius).
