Paphlagonia, Sinope. Circa 330-300 BC. AR Drachm (18mm, 5,58 g.) OIA..., magistrate. Head of the nymph Sinope to left, wearing a sakkos but part of her curly hair fall gently down covering her neck and tiny part of the cheek. Rev. OIA/ ΣΙΝΩ Sea-eagle on dolphin to left. Coin of extreme beauty of the portrait, very feminine and charming. Normally the hair nymph are bound inside in the sakkos and she waers earring and necklace. The present examples none of this typical iconographic characteristics of the type are excluded also the aphlaston. In addition the initials of the magistrate seems to be unrecorded as well. Extremely Rare, exceptional example.
