Kings of Macedon. Alexander III the Great, 336-323 BC. AR Drachm (18mm. 4,06g.). Struck under the rule of Philip III Arrhidaios from Menander of Kleitos, in the name and types of Alexander III. 'Kolophon', circa 322-319 BC. Head of Herakles to right, wearing lion skin headdress. Rev. Zeus Aëtophoros seated to left, holding sceptre; AΛEΞANΔPOY to right, combined kerykeion-monogram in left field, star below throne, spearhead in outer right field. Price 1758.
