MHP - ΘV / H A/ΓΙΟ/CO - P/HT/HC / A The Virgin Hagiosoritissa stand facing, orans and nimbate, wearing tunic and maphorion. Rev. ΘΕΟΔΩΡΟC ΔΕCΠΟ - Ο AΓΙΟC ΔHΜHΤΡΙΟC Theodore, on left, wearing crown, stemma, divitision and loros, and St. Dimitrios, on right, nimbate and in military attire, both standing facing; Dimitrios presenting Theodore with the city walls of Thessalonica; above, manus Dei. DOC 2a. SB 2159. Minor areas of flatness, otherwise Extremely Fine with very clear images and faces, especially on the reverse. Exceptional coin, struck on a broad flan with an excellent grade of preservation of the silver. Example of symbolic importance for the spirit during the occupation of Constantinople from the crusaders. Extremely Rare.
