Description
Eastern Celtic Tribes, imitating Alexander the 'Great' 3rd.-2nd. Century BC. AR Tetradrachm ( 27,5 mm, 14,86 g.). Heavily stylised head of Herakles wearing lion-skin headdress to right. Rev. Zeus seated on throne to left holding long sceptre, eagle in outstretched hand. Pseudo legend ΛIIIIIII behind and below the throne. Göbl, OTA 579, 13 var.; vgl. BMCCC I 197; Slg. Lanz 925. Good very fine.
