Thrace. Apollonia Pontica, circa 470-435 BC. Silver Drachm (12.7 mm, 3.31 g.). Facing Gorgoneion with tongue protruding, serpents around. Rev. Upright anchor; in field, crayfish to left and A to right. SNG Copenhagen 452; SNG BM Black Sea 157; SNG Bulgaria Russe 2, 120-168; HGC 3.2, 1323. Irregular flan. Uneven toning. Good very fine. Very dynamic and horrific facing Gorgoneion!
