Description
Thrace. Maroneia, 1st century BC. Bronze (26.4 mm, 15.44 g.). Head of Dionysos to right, wearing ivy wreath. Rev. [ΔI]ONYΣOY ΣΩTHPOΣ / MAPΩNITΩN, Dionysos standing left, holding bunch of grapes and narthex stalks; monogram to inner left. Schönert-Geiss 1354-1405; HGC 3.2, 1557. Dark green patina. Very fine.
