Description
Boiotia. Boiotian League. Federal Coinage, probably struck at Thebes, circa 395-340 BC. Silver Hemidrachm (12.7 mm, 2.25 g.). Boeotian shield. Rev. Amphora with letters B OI on either side, above a club, all within an incuse square. BCD Boiotia 32; Head 'Boeotia' p. 54; HGC 4, 1165; SNG Copenhagen 170-1. Uneven toning. Almost very fine.
