R SARDINIA, under Carthage, Æ23, after 238 BC, Persephone or Tanit head l/3 corn ears, crescent & pellet above, Punic letters, S1267; VF+, actually better in parts but a little crude, tho less so than usual, affecting only obv bottom; nrly centered, strong detail on head & rev; basically smooth olive patina. Quite scarce & exceptional quality for this. (A VF realized $456, Peus 4/12.)
