MILETOS, 1/12 Stater, 6th cent BC, Lion forepart, head left/star pattern in square, S3532 (£65); EF, well centered & struck on odd-shaped flan, strong detail; good metal with deep tone. Earliest coin in a modest price range. This piece actually has just lion head, not forepart, style a bit unusual, possibly barbarous?? (An AEF brought $301 on $340 bid in my 1/19 sale.)
