Description
Philip V gold 8 Escudos 1736 Mo-MF AU53 NGC, Mexico City mint, KM148, Onza-429. A pleasing piece, well-centered and with an especially bold reverse strike. Scattered handling marks but very little in the way of wear; much of the weakness of the central area of the obverse would in fact appear to be due to a light softness in strike. Overall quite nice, with moderate satiny luster and a hint of auburn color in the fields.
