Republic 8 Reales 1859 Oa-AE AU55 NGC, Oaxaca mint, KM377.11, DP-Oa03 (Excessively Rare). Variety with the eagle of 1859-1860. A classic Oaxacan rarity, toned in orange-gold around the rays with gray coloration elsewhere. Typically crude, a large die crack runs through the cap and rays design and some die adjustments are seen on the eagle's breast. Struck slightly off-center as well. Several blunt marks are observed over both sides, but these are certainly allowable at the grade. Still, better than most observed, and a great opportunity for the date collector of this challenging series.
