Ferdinand III gold 2 Ducat 1656 AU58 NGC, Vienna mint, KM899, Fr-231. 6.87gm. Apparently an exceptionally elusive date for this already lesser-seen double ducat, with our research revealing only a single other example coming to auction in the last decade. Minted just a year prior to Ferdinand's death in 1657, the offering is noteworthy for its absence of consequential surface marks, seeming nearly Mint State with more flatness atop the high points than serious rub. For the sake of completeness, we note a minor bend in the flan, though this proves to be of little visual detraction.
