Notice the watermark at back, which is a map of Malaya. Excellent coloration is seen at front. This type was printed in Kuala Lumpur as a response to a lack of coinage in circulation, which was hindering commerce. Silver coinage was hoarded at the time. As a result, most of these paper notes became workhorses in circulation, leaving Uncirculated examples few and far between.
