The large format Mercantile Bank issues get all the attention, while the final two $100 designs go under the radar. This note features the first date of this design, 28th July, 1964. Only 40,000 notes were issued with this date, which is far fewer than any other subsequent date. At the time of cataloging, only five examples in the PMG Population Report are graded Uncirculated. All other dates for this design show a print total of 150,000 to 300,000, dwarfing the print range for this date.
