Restruck in 1918 for collectors, clearly the product of the desirability and popularity of the original 1914 Plumed Hat Dollars. An always razor-sharp striking accompanies the piece at hand, yielding even the most meticulous detail in the epaulettes and hat for which the issue is named. Graced with a uniform metallic surface likely due to the noted cleaning, yet pleasingly mellowed over time. This example proves to be no less sought-after among collectors of the early Republican series and is expected to demand a premium.
