Louis XIV Ecu 1708/7-T AU Details (Obverse Cleaned) NGC, Nantes mint, KM362.2, Dav-1322, Gad-227 (R3), L4L-323 (R4), Sobin-901 (R3). Draped Bust type, overdate variety. A well-struck representative of this highly elusive issue. Framed in razor-sharp legends, with impressive fullness retained across the King's flowing curls of hair. The reverse presents as essentially Mint State, fielding impressively bold definition and scintillating underlying luster tinged in golden highlights across a veil of metallic patina. While the obverse admits signs of a past cleaning, glints of residual luster grace the peripheries, speaking to a high-end preservation for the type. Presenting a clear 1708/7 overdate, and a true prize for the French crown collector.
