Philip V 2 Reales 1724 M-A MS62 NGC, Madrid mint, KM296, Cal-774. Sharp, and typically a rather available coin, even on the cusp of Choice Mint State. What makes this specimen singular, however, is its peculiar, eye-catching "perspective" slate toning--almost similar to the pull-away effects sometimes seen in marginal tone, and yet here given the impression that the obverse details are hand-drawn and two dimensional. Quite simply, a coin which must be seen in hand to be fully appreciated.
