Baden. Karl I Friedrich Taler 1811-BE MS64 PCGS, Mannheim mint, KM152, Dav-514, AKS-11, Thun-13. Mintage: 3,885. The second-lowest mintage date from this only three-year type, which, while occasionally available in fine states of preservation, has not been seen technically finer by either NGC or PCGS. Appearing resplendent with just a few annealing flaws at the base of the planchet around 6 o'clock, we have been able to find one other graded example having sold at auction in recent years, an MS62 which hammered for the equivalent of around $4400 in February of last year. Missing as a type from Köhlmoos and as a date from Brand, few collectors will have the opportunity to add so fine a specimen to their cabinets. Ex.
