Cuba El Banco Espanol de la Habana 1000 Pesos 26.1.1870 Pick 18 PMG Fine 12 Net. The 1000 Pesos is the highest denomination of this desirable and extremely rare series. Deep olive green inks, a scene of Havana Harbor and a tobacco plantation are easily seen on the front of this gigantic uniface banknote. A small, four digit serial number and a number of handwritten signatures are still clearly visible. This note has been cancelled, as evidenced by the hole punches and overprints on both sides. Ink burn and margin roughness are mentioned for accuracy. At the time of cataloging, this is the only example graded by PMG, and there are no traceable sales records for this type in the last decade. A trophy note from an impressive and amazing collection. Not to be missed.
