Description

Saxony. Johann Friedrich I & Moritz Taler 1544 MS65 NGC, Buchholz mint, Dav-9735, Schnee-118. A fleeting type that only comes to market once every year or so, and regardless of condition, always brings spirited bidding. An even rarer occurrence is to find an example practically as struck and confidently Gem Mint State as is witnessed in this very lot. Radiant flash traverses the dual busts, all framed by a gentle iridescence preserved within the peripheries, further elevating this already engaging candidate for the quality-conscious collector. Ex. Johann Max Böttcher Collection (Harald Möller Auction 47, November 2007, Lot 828) From the Cape Coral Collection, Part II
