Description

Anhalt-Dessau. Friedrich I Proof 5 Mark 1896-A PR64 Cameo NGC, Berlin mint, KM24, Dav-511, J-21. A rarely encountered one-year type from Anhalt-Dessau celebrating Friedrich's 25th year of reign, immensely so as a Proof. The last Proof example we were fortunate enough to offer for sale was a PR58 coin, over ten years ago, hammering for $2,000 in 2012. Needless to say, this current offering clearly succeeds the previous in terms of state of preservation. Cartwheel luster and powerful reflectivity adorn the surfaces of this pure argent near-Gem. Tied for the finest extant with a single other NGC occupant. Ex.
