George III Proof Bank Dollar of 5 Shillings 1804 PR65+ NGC, Soho mint, KM-Tn1, S-3768, ESC-1946. First leaf to end of E in DEI, inverted K in relief under shield, stop after REX variety. A profusely luminous piece with frosted designs and glassy fields that attract the gaze at the slightest turn of the wrist. Faintest traces of the undertype can be noted beneath the legends, yet the central areas exhibit no weakness due to the overstrike. Proof examples are particularly sought after in any appreciable condition, and the present offering does not disappoint. Ex.
