Philip IV gold Cob 2 Escudos ND (1630-1631) C-E AU (Clipped), Cartagena mint, KM4.4, cf. Cal-1759 (different obverse), Restrepo-M52-31, cf. Oro Macuquino-119 (different obverse). 5.34gm. Denomination to right variety. Attractive and complete despite the clipping. Restrepo attributes the reverse with cross only flanked by pellets to 1630 alone, while Oro Macuquino has an example from 1631 with such reverse. In both cases, the 1630 and 1631 examples have the denomination left, while the present offering has the denomination right.
