Yunnan. Republic T'ang Chi-yao gold 5 Dollars ND (1919) MS62 NGC, KM-Y481, L&M-1058, Kann-1527. Variety with digit 2 beneath flag tassels. Struck for a slightly "touched-up" pair of dies according to Kann, resulting in a mild degree of softness about the portrait and in the flags. Nonetheless still a very handsome specimen with full mint luster in the fields, a prominent relief to the devices, and a silky originality preserved in the fields.
