Charles II gold "Elephant" 2 Guineas 1664 XF40 NGC, KM425.2, S-3334. Elephant below bust. A popular hallmarked issue, the first year of production for the 2 Guinea piece. The elephant below Charles's portrait denotes the origin of specie, imported from Guinea by the Royal African Company. A pleasing XF piece, evenly worn yet still bearing scintillating mint luster in the legends, a light golden brown tone beginning to form.
