Description

Kelly, James. NUMISMATIC AUCTION CATALOGUES. Dayton, etc., 1941-1965. A nearly complete set of forty-five catalogues, excepting only two regular catalogues (October 1954 and July 1960), the 8-page March 13, 1959 Cincinnati Numismatic Association sale, the various sales included in Kelly's Coins and Chatter, and an unillustrated mimeographed production listed by Gengerke as his first. Varying formats, mostly original printed card covers. Lot also includes Kelly's Price Lists Nos. 20-23, along with an unnumbered fixed price list probably from 1944 and an earlier list ("Be an Early Bird!") that is unlisted in Bourne and likely from 1939 or 1940, very early in Kelly's career; also present is the first Paramount sale, which is often considered a Kelly catalogue since his name is on the front cover. Generally near fine. A very substantial run of Jim Kelly sales. Includes the 1950, 1951, 1956, 1961 and 1962 ANA sales. Ex Cardinal Collection Library.
